Guild Expedition Trials

spot_img

On January 28, 2026, Guild Expedition Trials were introduced for the first time. The feature launched with an initial batch of 30 trials, followed shortly by 25 more, bringing the total to 55.

Along with the Trials, several major updates were introduced:

  • Reward Shops: Except for the Fountain of Youth and the Forgotten Temple, all other rewards must now be purchased in shops using a new currency.

  • Forgotten Temple: To keep the Forgotten Temple active permanently in your city, you must complete all 5 Guild Expedition levels at Difficulty 5.

  • Diamonds: You can obtain up to 60 Diamonds per Guild Expedition: 30 for completing Difficulty 4 of any trial, and another 30 available for purchase in the shop.

  • Ancient Temple: Fragments for this building are awarded exclusively in Trial 55, which grants 34 of the 200 required fragments. While it lasts for 28 days like the Forgotten Temple, it cannot be kept permanently active because assembling it requires 6 weeks of collection (34 × 6 = 204) rather than 4 weeks.

What are Guild Expedition Trials?

At the start of each Guild Expedition (GEX), you can select a trial—an extra layer of difficulty added to the 5 existing difficulty maps. You must unlock earlier trials to access higher ones, with higher trials offering greater rewards.

All players begin with Trials 1 through 3 unlocked, where Trial 3 matches the classic GEX difficulty baseline.

The overview displays recommended attack and defense boosts for each trial, along with a preview of potential rewards. Multiple trials are available for you to conquer over time. Due to current balancing, higher trials require significantly higher army boosts, presenting a formidable challenge—so beating the highest tiers immediately may not be possible.

Selecting a higher trial scales the following:

  • Enemy army boosts

  • Negotiation resource costs

  • Fortification build costs

  • Fortification army boosts

  • Contribution points gained

  • Required guild goods for higher difficulties

Once a trial is selected, you will play through the 5 familiar difficulty levels, now with new mechanics! Please keep in mind that once a trial is selected for the week, it cannot be changed.

What else is new?

1. Attack and Defense Boosts changing per Encounter
While the 5 familiar difficulty levels remain, attacking and defending army encounters are now mixed across all maps. Instead of facing attacking armies exclusively on Difficulties 1 through 4 and defending armies on Difficulty 5, you will now encounter both throughout the expedition.

While army distributions change weekly, all players on the same trial will face identical encounters to ensure equal conditions for everyone.

2. All Special Resources needed for Negotiations
Special resources like Mars Ore have now been added to the negotiation pool, which was previously limited to Promethium and Orichalcum.

3. Reward Pool for Encounter Rewards

Reward chests no longer offer chance-based rewards. Instead, each encounter features a fixed reward drawn from a reward pool, fully visible from the start. As a result, the specific reward assigned to a given encounter may change from week to week.

Before With the update

4. Fortification Update

Fortifications have received a major upgrade! Previously exclusive to Difficulty 5, they are now available across all difficulty levels and provide boosts to both your attacking and defending armies:

  • Eagle Warrior Temple: Increases the Attack boost of your attacking and defending armies.

  • Jaguar Warrior Temple: Increases the Defense boost of your attacking and defending armies.

  • Great Warrior Temple: Increases both the Attack and Defense boosts of your attacking and defending armies.

On top of this, we’ve introduced a brand-new fortification: The Twin Serpent Temple! This temple allows you to swap an encounter’s army requirement—for example, converting a defending-army encounter into an attacking-army encounter (or vice versa) to leverage your highest boost stats.

Please note that not every encounter allows you to build all types of Fortifications; instead, each encounter features a specific selection to choose from. These options are fixed per encounter across all trials—meaning whether you are on Trial 2 or Trial 15, Encounter 20 will always offer the exact same Fortifications. Additionally, Trial 1 does not offer any Fortifications at all.

What Remains Unchanged?

The Guild Championship mechanics of the Guild Expedition remain stable — the first guild to complete all encounters continues to secure 1st place in the Championship.

The Reward Shops

Tendremos 2 nuevas tiendas, donde podremos comprar partes de las recompensas que antes recibíamos en el Expedición del Gremio, para ello usaremos las siguientes monedas:

Common Jade Coins Common Jade Snakes Uncommon Jade Coyotes Uncommon Jade Statues

As their names suggest, these currencies correspond to two distinct reward tiers: Common and Uncommon. Each tier features its own dedicated Reward Shop. You can easily tell the shops apart by their name, icon, and character artwork—with the Uncommon shop character sporting more elaborate attire.

Expedition Rewards

The Ancient Temple

The Ancient Temple is one of the new rewards earned by completing Trial 55 of the Guild Expedition. You can have a maximum of two in your city, and it remains active for 28 days.

Fragments for this building are awarded exclusively in Trial 55, which grants 34 of the 200 required fragments. While it lasts for 28 days like the Forgotten Temple, it cannot be kept permanently active because assembling it requires 6 weeks of collection (34 × 6 = 204) rather than 4 weeks.

To get the 50 weekly fragments available in the Guild Expedition, we must complete at least Trial 5. That way, during the 4 weeks that the ascended status lasts, we will collect the 200 fragments needed to build another one.
