The frontier of human civilization now extends far past our home system. Following an elusive interstellar signal, explorers have charted Planet Hendron, a newly sighted realm guarding alien artifacts and forgotten Synthetic Intelligence Remnants. Mastering this frontier will define generations, laying the groundwork for permanent cosmic empires.
Welcome aboard Stellar Age: Discovery, kicking off the all-new Stellar Ages era in Forge of Empires!
Stellar Age: Discovery is the 24th era in Forge of Empires and the direct successor to Space Age: Space Hub. It fully launched on the Beta server on August 10, 2026, ahead of its global release on official live servers later that month.
The Stellar Age: Discovery era brings major changes, finally breaking away from the usual “copy-paste” formula. While the campaign map remains accessible for previous ages, it is no longer useful for this era or those that follow. Instead, the stellar colony takes center stage:
-
Persistence: Stellar colonies will no longer disappear when advancing to a new age; they will continue to expand, functioning as a permanent second city.
-
Hub of Action: From the stellar colony, you will complete missions to produce the key resources required for tech research.
Tech research is also undergoing changes. While choosing between different paths won’t affect your rewards in this era, future eras will be different: the branch you choose will directly determine the specific benefits you receive.
We will receive 2 free
expansions through research and 8 diamond
expansions, costing around 5,200
diamonds each. Unlike in previous ages, there will be no expansions available for purchase with medals. This suggests they won’t bother expanding the main city, as they had to scale back the number of previously announced expansions due to a lack of remaining city space.
Requirements and Rewards in Research
Stellar Age: Discovery has a total of 37 technologies to unlock, setting aside the forks in the road, as taking either path leads to the exact same outcome.

Buildings on Earth
We will be able to build fewer structures in our Earth city compared to previous ages since, as mentioned earlier, the stellar colony now plays a much more central role. Earth will mainly feature synthesizers to produce goods, barracks for military units, a supply building, and a new type of road.

Great Buildings
The Shattered Horizon Siphon was built to specifications recovered from the Synthetic Intelligence Remnants, though no engineer fully understood the blueprints they followed. At its heart swirls a captured fracture of space itself. Some believe the anomaly is meant only to be observed. Others believe it is observing.
Buildings on Space Stellar

Some buildings may not display complete stats, as research progresses slowly and full data isn’t revealed until you unlock the required technology.

Missions
Missions replace the campaign map. Completing them provides the necessary resources to research new technologies, which in turn unlocks additional missions and boosts colony productivity to accelerate overall progress.
